Description

Here is an almost homemade apple pie. It’s one of the first things that I learned to make. Let me know what you think!!

Ingredients

  • 1 package Pillsbury Pie Crust (2 Crusts Per Package)
  • 7 cups Granny Smith Apples
  • 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1 whole Lemon
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 stick Butter Of Very Cold Butter, Plus More For Greasing Pan

Preparation

First get the pie crust out and let it thaw so it’s easy to unroll.

Next start peeling and coring the apples. Then slice them into eights and throw them into a bowl for tossing. Add cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg, juice of one lemon and flour. Mix with your freshly washed hands and let the mixture sit while you get the pie pan ready.

Preheat oven to 400 F.

Butter the pie pan so the pie doesn’t stick. Then roll one of the pie crusts into the pan. Now dump the apple mixture into the bottom crust. Then take a stick of butter and finely grate butter over the top of the apple mix. (I keep one stick of butter in the freezer to make it easier to grate). Next put the top pie crust on and start pinching the edges of the two crusts together to create a seal. Now poke holes in the top of the crust to let the heat escape during cooking or your pie will explode in your oven. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

Now it’s just waiting time. Let the pie bake for 45-50 minutes. That’s it! You’re done.
