There is no pudding involved with this dish. It’s an English dish used in place of bread and traditionally served with Roast Beef. It resembles a German Pancake to me, minus the sugar. Very easy and very tasty!
Put beef drippings or oil in a 9×14 inch glass or tin baking dish. Put the dish in a 450 degree (F) oven and let it heat up until smoking hot. About 5-10 minutes depending on your oven.
Meanwhile, mix all of the remaining ingredients together until smooth and let sit for 10-15 minutes while oven is heating up.
When drippings/oil is ready carefully take pan out of oven and slowly pour batter over oil. Once in the oven, do not open oven door or your puddin’ will deflate! Let cook for 25 minutes.
Using beef drippings is the traditional way of making Yorkshire Pudding and adds a lot of flavor, but oil will work also. This is an old family favorite and served at most holiday dinners, hope you enjoy.

I would like to add when adding the oil to the pan you want a good coating on the bottom but not so much that the batter is swimming. I measure out 1/4 cup don’t quite use it all. Plus, depending on your oven maybe check it at 20 minutes and if golden remove. My oven runs a bit cool.
Hope you enjoy!

Yorkshire pudding is great, we used to have it every Sunday with whatever roast Mum had cooked – it was a favourite!
Leftovers are also good reheated with cream and syrup….

I was just reading James Herriot last night and thinking, “I need to figure out how to make a Yorkshire Pudding.” And here it is! Thanks! I’ll have to try it with the roast on Sunday
