A delicious way to start you day!
Preheat oven to 400ºF. Spray a 12-count muffin pan with cooking spray or line with muffin papers.
In a bowl, whisk together, flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, beat together butter, sugar and egg. Add in yogurt, milk, syrup, and vanilla. Continue mixing until combined. Add dry ingredients into wet ingredients gradually and mix until fully combined.
Pour batter into prepared pan, filling each about 2/3 full. Sprinkle with walnuts and, if desired, sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
Let muffins sit for 5–10 minutes before removing from pan.
