This is recipe given to me by one of my mom’s friends, Mary Mellgren, a French teacher who makes the most delicious treats!
1. Mix the shortening and the sugar together; add eggs and beat well.
2. Sift dry ingredients; add to the creamed mixture.
3. Add the banana in slowly. Blend well after each addition.
4. Stir in nuts.
5. Pour into a well greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.
6. Bake at 350ºF for 45-50 minutes.
7. Remove from pan; cool on a rack.
