Description

A dessert bread with bananas and chocolate chips. It’s simple and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter, Softened
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 4 whole Ripe Bananas
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325ºF and butter a 9x5x3 loaf pan.

Cream together the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after you add each egg.

Mash together the banana, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla in a small bowl. In a third bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Pour the banana mixture into the creamed mixture and combine. Next add the dry mixture and combine. Make sure not to over-mix the batter; make sure you only stir until the dry ingredients just mixed in. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into the buttered loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the loaf comes out clean. Run a knife along the sides of the pan to ensure the bread comes out in one piece.

To remove, invert the bread pan and gently shake. Cool on a wire rack.
