I love my banana bread with a spicy kick, but while I was dieting, I had to find a way to make it healthier and lower sugar. That’s when I came up with this variation.
Stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder and spices in a large bowl. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, beat 2 eggs. Add bananas (I prefer to use the ones that are almost entirely black for the strongest banana flavor), Splenda or sugar, applesauce, oil and vanilla.
Pour all wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just blended. Pour batter into a greased 9x5x3 loaf pan.
Bakes at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes. Cool and slice. Makes 16 servings.

Just made this for my boys, and it’s a WIN! I used my muffin pan, and only cooked them for about 23 minutes. They came out wonderful! Dense and moist, but I think next time I’ll go alittle lighter on the nutmeg( I omitted the ginger ’cause I didn’t have any)… but over-all, WONDERFUL on a rainy afternoon with a cup-o-coffee or after-school snack… Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Just made this for dessert tonight. I give it maybe 2 hours and it will be all gone! The family devoured it! Easy to make and took no time at all to prepare.
Thanks a bunch!
