With the added butter, powdered Ranch mix, and a full half cup of cheddar cheese, this bread is awesome. All cooked on the smoker!
1. Unroll the unbaked bread dough.
2. Lightly brush the entire surface of the bread with the melted butter. Sprinkle the Ranch dressing mix over the entire surface. Now sprinkle it with the cheddar cheese to completely cover.
3. Roll up the dough tightly with the seam on the bottom. Cut 3 half-inch slashes on the top of the loaf of dough. Place the bread on a greased sheet of aluminum foil, seam side down.
4. Now get the smoker going. I used apple wood for this because I wanted it to have a mild smoke flavor. You’ll want to bring the smoker up to around 300 degrees F.
5. Once the smoker settles in at around 300F, place the bread (on the foil) into the smoker. Cook it for 50 minutes. Start checking it at about 40 minutes. I used the tooth pick method for checking. You know, if it comes out clean, it’s done!

Gonna make this tomorrow for our home “tailgaiting” while we watch the Aggies… It should be ok in the oven, right?

Thanks Pat. You’ll love the butter! I grew up in San Antonio, and then lived in Houston and the surrounding area for many years!

What part of Texas…it’s a pretty big state. I’m going to try this with my French bread recipe in my recipe box, and I’m going to do your butter the next time I make some cornbread or biscuits…might even be good on French toast….
