Recipe directly from Great Grandma herself! Like soda bread, but without the soda. A quick, easy recipe that upgrades tea-time bread and butter to a delicious treat.
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix together dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder).
Mix together wet ingredients in separate container (melted butter, egg, milk).
Combine dry and wet ingredients, then add cranberries. Don’t over-stir!!
Melt (or spread) the 1 Tablespoon of butter in skillet, then evenly distribute the 1 Tablespoon of flour.
Pour your batter mixture into skillet. Score top.
Bake for 45-60 minutes.
*sub light cream or sour cream for the milk for different textures.
** sub chocolate chips, raisins, frozen berries for the cranberries for different flavors.
