Description

This is one of my favorite things to make for a party because who doesn’t love garlic bread? And it’s so cheap and there’s no dishes to bring back home. It’s so great with pastas, soups, chili, stews, salads or by itself.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ stick Butter, Softened
  • ½ cups Parmesan Cheese, Shredded
  • ½ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • ¼ cups Fresh Herbs (Parsley, Cilantro, Basil, Rosemary Etc), Chopped
  • 1 loaf French Bread (Large Loaf)
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese, Optional For Topping

Preparation

In a bowl, mix butter, Parmesan, pepper, garlic, and herbs until well combined.

Next, prep the bread. You want to slice it but keep each piece slightly attached by not cutting all the way through. So slice the loaf of bread to your preferred thickness, cutting straight down or slightly diagonal (it’s up to you) but leaving the bottom of each slice intact. Spread the butter mix with a flat spatula on one side of each slice.

To bake: Preheat the oven 350 F. Wrap the loaf of bread in foil and bake for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, open the foil to expose the middle and sprinkle with additional Parmesan. Then bake for another 10 minutes. Finally for the last 2 minutes, broil on the highest rack, watching it carefully.

To grill: Repeat the spreading process but separate the slices as you go. Heat a grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill each piece for 2-3 minutes on each side.
