Description

There are a lot of banana bread recipes out there, I know. But this one ranks up there as the best I’ve ever tried. Quick and easy, and no mixer required!

Ingredients

  • 4 whole Ripe Or Overripe Bananas
  • ⅓ cups Melted Butter
  • ¾ cups White Sugar
  • ¼ cups Turbinado Sugar (sugar In The Raw)
  • 1 whole Egg, Beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1-½ cup All-purpose Flour

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Put the peeled bananas (3 or 4, but no fewer or bread will be too dry!) into a large mixing bowl and smash with a wooden spoon. Add the melted butter and mix together with the spoon.

3. Add the sugars, egg, and vanilla, stirring to combine.

4. Sprinkle the baking soda, salt, and cinnamon over the top and mix into the mixture.

5. Add the flour last and mix.

6. Pour mixture into a buttered 4×8″ loaf pan.

7. Bake for one hour. Cool on a rack before removing from the pan to serve.

For some reason, I’ve always struggled with making banana bread that’s moist enough. That won’t happen again now that I’ve found this recipe! I substituted brown sugar for the Turbinado sugar and added 1/3 c. chopped pecans as well. Yummy!

Wow!! So easy and it’s delicious!! Didn’t have to drag out the mixer or anything, just throw it all in one bowl. I didn’t have the raw sugar, I used half brown and half white sugar and it turned out amazing! Thanks for the great recipe!

Carla…I myself have never added nuts. But a lot of the people who reviewed it have done so, and no one seems to have had any problems. I think you’re probably safe. :-)

Not only does this taste great, but the preparation is so easy! I love that everything is done in one bowl in stages.

Delicious! This is my go-to recipe for banana bread now. Moist and exceptionally flavourful

My husband loves the crunch that the turbinado lends to this. I’ve made it with chocolate chips and even into single serve muffins. It always turns out perfectly.

Thanks for sharing.

This is the first time I’ve made banana bread, and I was very pleased with how easy this recipe was and how yummy it came out! I decided to make them into 12 small muffins instead of a loaf to portion it out and cut down on baking time, and I also added walnuts for some crunch. Thanks for this delicious recipe, it will definitely be my go-to for banana bread!

This really was perfect! Moist, sweet, and easy. I loved that I didn’t have a sinkful of dishes. I used 1/2 c. white sugar and 1/2 c. brown sugar since I didn’t have sugar in the raw. I also only had 3 medium bananas, but it was still moist. This could be because two of them had been frozen, so they were extra soft.

Definitely turned out delicious and I love that I can make it in one bowl.

I think this recipe would benefit from a more specific measurement for the mashed bananas, since they vary in size. I used 3 very large bananas, and my bread is a little mushy.

Also, I used 1/4 t. salt and might do more next time, just to keep the sweetness from becoming too cloying.
