These can be made using all white flour, or half-white, half-wheat. Good any way.
Dissolve yeast in water.
Add butter, sugar, salt, eggs and 3 cups of flour. Mix until combined.
Gradually incorporate remaining flour, 1/2 to 1 cup at a time, until no longer sticky. (You may have to add more than the total 6 cups.)
Knead for 10 minutes. Allow to rise until it has doubled in size, about an hour.
Flour hands (be sure to remove any rings), form into rolls, and place on a baking sheet. Allow to rise for another 30 minutes.
10 minutes before the rolls have finished rising, preheat oven to 375F.
Bake for 20 to 30 minutes. Serve warm.
