Description

A wonderful bread. Great by itself, toasted or to use for grilled sandwiches and paninis. Easy to make in your bread machine.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup Boiling Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Cornmeal
  • ⅓ cups Steel Cut Oats
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons Honey
  • ⅓ cups Sour Cream
  • 3 cups Bread Flour
  • ½ cups Wheat Flour
  • ¼ cups Wheat Bran Or Oat Bran
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cups Flax Seed
  • 2 teaspoons Dry Active Yeast

Preparation

Combine boiling water, cornmeal and steel cut oats. Let stand 20 minutes.

Add cornmeal mixture to the bread machine, followed by the remaining ingredients. Set on medium setting or wheat setting. Bake and enjoy!

Very light and fluffy for a multi grain bread. Wonderful flavor and texture. I didn’t use a bread machine, but it’s easy to make by hand. My batch made 18 2-ounce rolls.
