Known to everyone simply as “Momma Billie’s Rolls,” these rolls have been tried and true by generations of our family and friends. Make these and expect rave reviews and a fabulous aroma that can’t be beat!
1. Mix potatoes, egg, and shortening in a bowl.
2. Add milk, sugar, salt, yeast mixture (yeast dissolved in the 1/2 cup lukewarm water).
3. Add flour to make dough.
4. Stir well.
5. Place the bowl in the refrigerator overnight.
6. Turn dough onto a floured board.
7. Knead gently for a minute or so.
8. Roll out dough and cut into rolls with a cookie cutter.
9. Place on a greased cookie sheet, cover with a towel, and let rise until doubled (usually about an hour).
10. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes, then serve hot!
