Description

Homemade wonton wrappers aren’t as hard as you think.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ¾ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ cups Water

Preparation

Beat the egg with the salt and half of the water.

Put the flour in a mixing bowl, make a well and add the egg and water mixture. Mix it as much as you can with a spoon. Add as much water as you need to get a dough.

Knead for a couple minutes, until it forms a smooth, pliable dough. Cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest for a half hour.

Roll small (about thumb-sized) pieces very thin on a well-floured surface or use a pasta machine.

Use it for whatever you wanted wonton wrappers for. Store in a plastic bag in the refrigerator or freezer until ready to use.

I am so glad I found this on the Homemade blog day. I am going to try them over the weekend. Hubby loves chili rellanos and I usually cheat and use won ton wrappers instead of an egg batter. Cant wait.

This is brilliant! I can’t wait to try it. Wonton wrappers are nowhere to be found in the little mexican town where I live. Thank you so much.
