Great wheat tortillas – best served with butter and honey!
Begin by mixing the flours, baking powder, salt, and vegetable oil together using a mixer. Slowly add the warm milk until the dough reaches a sticky consitency (you may have to add more warm milk or a splash of water if needed, but do this slowly and sparingly!).
Remove the dough from the bowl and knead the dough on a floured surface for 2-3 minutes. Shape into a ball and place it in a bowl, cover, and allow it to rise for 20 minutes.
Break the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each into a ball by rolling it between your hands. Place the dough balls back in the bowl, cover, and allow to rise for 10 minutes.
Take one ball of dough, place on floured surface, flatten with your hands, and then roll out into a thin sheet, approximately 8 inches in diameter. Place paper towels between each of the tortillas once they have been rolled.
Cook in a dry frying pan over high heat for about 1 minute on each side or until bubbles begin to form in the dough. Serve warm with butter and honey!
