Put all of your dry ingredients into a Ziploc bag and it’s ready at a moment’s notice! All you have to do is add the beer and bake. Or you can give it as a gift along with instructions to a friend! Makes a great gift! Love it with chili.
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease 9×5 loaf baking pan.
2. In a bowl, mix self-rising flour, all purpose flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, onion powder, and Italian seasoning until blended. Pour in beer, stir just until moistened. Transfer to loaf pan. Top with melted butter.
3. Bake 45-55 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack
*You can also use wheat flour. It makes the bread more robust.

I love this bread! I don’t use the whole 1/4 cup of butter/margarine because I find it makes it a little greasier than I prefer, so I use just enough to slightly drizzle over it, maybe about 1/3 of what it calls for. Love it though! In fact, I just put the ingredients in a jar and am sending it to my good friend in a care package.

This is great with chili in the winter, I prefer it without the spices in it………..

This is a cute idea for a gift, sort of a savory “cookie mix in a jar” idea. It would be cute to put the mix in a decorative container or in a mason jar and include a can of beer. Thanks for this recipe.
