Description

Your three year old will thank you.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ teaspoon Olive Oil
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes, 14.5 Oz
  • ½ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • 2 pinches Granulated Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Dried Basil
  • ⅛ cups Olive Oil, Divided
  • 1 whole Recipe For Pizza Dough, Or Store Bought
  • ¼ teaspoons Garlic Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Italian Seasoning
  • 2 Tablespoons Freshly Grated Parmesan

Preparation

Preheat oven to 500F.

For the sauce: Heat 1-1/2 teaspoons of olive oil in a small saucepan over medium low heat. Add the garlic and stir for a few seconds. Add the tomatoes, kosher salt, sugar, and basil. Simmer for 1/2 hour, stirring, and frequently mashing the tomatoes with a fork.

For the ‘bones': Generously oil a half-sheet pan with olive oil. Divide the pizza dough into 8 equal portions. Roll each ball into a 6 to 8 inch rope. Place on baking sheet and spritz all over with even more olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic salt and Italian seasoning.

Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven, turn the bones over, rotate pan. Bake 4 more minutes.

When golden brown, remove to serving platter and dust with cheese. Serve with T-Rex Sauce. Dino-mite!

I don’t have a 3 year old, but I’m pretty confidant that I’ll enjoy this just as much as any kid would! :P This looks like such a yummy recipe for breadsticks. I will totally be trying this out ASAP.
