Description

No need to knead this bread – it’s easy and so good. The smell of this bread baking is such a wonderful thing. The taste is even better.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Dry Yeast
  • 1 cup Creamed Cottage Cheese, Well Mashed And Heated To Lukewarm
  • 1 Tablespoon Dry Onion Flakes
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Dill Seed
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 whole Egg Unbeaten
  • 2-¼ cups Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter, Softened

Preparation

Soften the yeast in 1/4 C of lukewarm water in a bowl. Let sit for 5 min.

Add all of the ingredients except for the egg , flour and butter. Combine well.

Add the unbeaten egg and the flour and mix.

Let the dough rise 40 to 60 minutes. Brush well all over with the butter and turn into 9″ bread pan.

Let the dough rise 30 minutes more. Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes.

The texture was a bit odd and this just wasn’t a big hit.

Great recipe. My mom made this every year for Thanksgiving and I had lost the recipe. I used fresh onion instead of dried and added a little extra dill weed. It’s delicious.
