These rolls are airy and light, buttery and blessed with a golden exterior.
Preheat the oven to 450 F. Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt in a medium bowl. Add the butter and break it up with your fingers until it is in small chunks or flakes. Stir in the buttermilk briefly, just to combine.
Portion out the dough into 8 equal pieces and form each into a ball. Place them evenly spread out on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the rolls are browned on the outside. Enjoy!
