I’m so sorry! I forgot to add in the recipe the buttermilk it calls for. I’ve added it now–hope it turns out well.

I’ve tried this recipe twice. Both times I ended up with dry flour heaps on the board and pan. I tried butter, then shortening. There doesn’t seem to be anything to hold the flour together. What am I doing wrong?

yummy! had to turn up the heat after 10 minutes, to 425 for an additional 5 minutes, to get the tops golden, but that’s because we live at a higher elevation. I also added 1/3 c of sour cream for some tang! (did the recipe purposely leave out buttermilk? – had to add a bit otherwise it was very crumbly)… with all the ‘tweaks’, they still turned out great!
