This cornbread is sweet and has a secret ingredient that makes it oh-so delicious!
Preheat oven 425 and grease an 8×8 pan.
Mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt. Mix milk, egg, and bacon fat separately, then blend with the dry mixture.
Pour into the pan. Bake for about 20 minutes.
The bacon fat is absolutely necessary for this recipe to turn out amazing. You could use butter instead, but it’s nowhere near as good!
