Description

Chocolate Banana Bread with a cream cheese swirl!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CREAM CHEESE SWIRL:
  • 5 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Room Temperature
  • 2 ounces, weight Sugar
  • 1  Egg
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • FOR THE CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD:
  • 7 ounces, weight Flour
  • 1 ounce, weight Cocoa Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1-½ teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 2-½ ounces, weight Oil
  • 5 ounces, weight Sugar
  • 2  Eggs
  • 8 ounces, weight Mashed Bananas

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF (176ºC).

Start by making the cream cheese swirl. Mix cream cheese and sugar together until there are no clumps. Whisk in egg, then fold in flour until smooth. Put into a piping bag and set aside.

Next, make the chocolate banana bread. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine oil and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, until well combined. Add mashed banana. Lastly, add flour mixture. Mix until there are no clumps remaining.

Pour into greased loaf pan (9×5). Pipe the cream cheese mixture into the chocolate banana batter. Swirl with a toothpick, or a knife.

Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. For best texture and to keep moist, cool completely before slicing. Enjoy!
