Description

Ok, so we dont have jerky; we’ve got Biltong, but it’s almost the same. I’ve adjusted it a bit so that you can use it too!

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons, 2-⅞ pinches Butter
  • 8 tablespoons, 1 teaspoon, 5-⅞ pinches Chopped Onions
  • 1 pound, 1-⅔ ounces, weight Self Raising Flour
  • 1 cup, 9 tablespoons, 1 teaspoon, 1-⅓ pinches Grated Cheese
  • 1 cup, 2-⅔ teaspoons, ⅞ pinches Finely Chopped Or Powdered Jerky (or Biltong If You Can Get Any)
  • 1 bottle (12 Oz. Bottle) Beer (any Type You Fancy)

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Melt the butter in a smallish to medium-sized ovenproof skillet and brown the onions. Set aside.
Mix the flour, 250 ml of the grated cheese, jerky (or biltong) and the onions.
Add the beer and mix well.
Divide dough into 8 equal portions and roll into balls.
Place balls alongside each other in the skillet.
Cover with the rest of the grated cheese.
Bake in the oven for 45 – 50 minutes until done.

You can also bake this as a loaf in a conventional loaf tin.
