Delicious bread that is soft, moist, and full of butter-pecan flavor.
For the toasted pecans:
Preheat oven to 250F. Stir together 1 Tablespoon of melted butter, corn syrup, sugar, cinnamon (1/8 teaspoon) and salt.
Add pecans, and toss to coat. Spread nuts in a single layer in a pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Then remove from oven and let cool.
For the bread:
Preheat oven to 350F. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon (1/2 teaspoon), nutmeg, and brown sugar.
Combine egg, buttermilk, and the remaining 2 Tablespoons of melted butter, and add to flour mixture. Stir well to combine. Add toasted pecans.
Put batter into a greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake 45-50 minutes. A toothpick should come out clean when inserted into the center of the loaf.

Oh does this sound heavenly! I think it will make a great holiday bread….well, every other day too. Can’t wait to try it out.
