The combination of banana bread and praline icing in this recipe is simply heavenly. I dare you to have just one slice!
For the bread:
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Prepare two bowls: one with the all the dry ingredients and one with the wet.
Stir each mix, then blend them together. Pour into a greased and floured standard size loaf pan.
Bake for around 1 hour and 20 minutes for a large loaf, or 40-45 minutes for smaller loaf pans.
When done baking, remove from the pan and place on a cooling rack.
For the icing:
Place brown sugar, 1 1/2 tablespoons milk, butter, corn syrup, and a dash of salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remembering to stir occasionally. Scrape brown sugar mixture into a bowl. Add the vanilla extract, remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons milk and powdered sugar. Beat with a mixer at high speed until slightly cooled. Drizzle icing over the cooled banana bread and sprinkle with the chopped pecans.
Let the bread stand until the icing sets, then slice and serve!

I really should have read the reviews before attempting this recipe, and trusted my gut. I’m not much of a baker so I thought maybe the measurements were right for this bread. Boy, was I wrong!! The bread is frankly horrible. 5 teaspoons of baking powder and no sugar should have been a clue for me. I didn’t even get to the icing part because the ‘bread’ was inedible.

I’m sorry but I think there’s a little something off with the recipe? Maybe it’s the 5 tsp of baking powder or no egg or sugar but it’s just not quite right. I almost didn’t trust it but decided to give it a try and it’s just not quire right.

One slice? I’m going to make this when I’m all alone, in 2 pans, so I can have one pan all to myself…the recipe sounds absolutely divine.
