Description

Easiest, best tasting and looking bread I’ve ever found.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cups Cooking Oil (any Kind Works!)
  • 2  Eggs
  • 3  Large Bananas, Mashed
  • 1 cup Chopped Nuts (optional)

Preparation

My sister received this recipe when she got married, and I was skeptical about changing my steady banana bread recipe but after trying this one, oh man, I will never go back.

Preheat oven to 300ºF (yes, 300ºF). Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl mix together sugar, oil, eggs, bananas, and nuts. Add flour mixture to the banana mixture. Divide mixture between 2 greased bread pans. Place in oven and bake for 1 hour. Let cool for at least 1 hour, then flip pans over and bread will fall out.

This makes great muffins also, and they only take around 40-45 minutes to bake.

Note: I almost always substitute at least 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour instead of all white and applesauce for the oil (I use a little less sugar when I do this).

This bread turned out perfect and was very easy to make. I usually have problems with the banana bread being over done on the outside and under cooked in the middle. I added 1 tsp of cinnamon to the recipe. Yummy, I will be replacing my old standby with this one.
