This is the banana bread I’ve been baking for the family for a really long time. Adapted from the Alice Bay Cookbook.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Cream butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add eggs, then mix in the bananas and milk. Add soda and flour, and blend well. Stir in nuts.
Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan, sprinkle with a little cinnamon and sugar if desired, bake slowly for one hour.
Recipe makes 1 loaf.
