This is a great recipe that can be used as a dessert for a potluck or even breakfast.
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Pour into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 40-50 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Optional: add as much as you like of raisins, apples, cranberries, etc.

This was alright, I think I like my oatmeal a little more sweet and crumbly. This is just the first of many baked oatmeals, and I can’t say it wasn’t delicious, just not my style. Thanks!

NeCole, thank you so much for the information. Oatmeal in just about any form has always been one of my favorite foods, so I’ll be giving this baked oatmeal a try very soon. I’m curious about the crockpot recipe also.

I’d love to have the crockpot recipe, especially if it is made with steel cut oats.

I’ve been baking and eating oatmeal for years. We eat it warm with milk on it, but some people eat it with nothing on it, especially if it has fruit and/or nuts in it. It’s almost the consistency of moist cake. I even have a recipe to make it in a crock pot. It is one of my favorite foods.
It was first served to me at a women’s retreat in Pennsylvania. The cooks at the retreat were Mennonite ladies who were fabulous cooks. They served the baked oatmeal for breakfast and luckily, they willingly shared the recipe. I used to joke that I went back to the retreat each year just for the baked oatmeal.

I’ve seen numerous recipes for baked oatmeal over the years, (even though yours sounds the best), but I’ve always been confused about how to eat it. I mean, do you pour milk over it like you would regular oatmeal?
