Description

Popcorn. Popped corn. Corn that has been popped. Make microwaved popcorn in a brown paper bag. So easy, and much more affordable. Yummy, too!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cups Popcorn Kernels
  • 1 whole Plain, Brown, Paper Lunch Sack
  • 2 teaspoons Olive Oil
  • ¼ teaspoons Popcorn Salt

Preparation

Place the kernels in the bag. Drizzle the oil onto the kernels. Sprinkle the salt onto the oiled kernels. Fold the paper bag once, at the top. It’s about a 2-inch fold. Staple shut with one staple in the center. Is you microwave going to blow up? I don’t know. Has mine? Not yet. Microwave for 2–3 minutes. The key is to listen to the corn and stop the microwave when there are about 3–5 seconds between pops. Don’t walk away. If you do this is a few times, you’ll know the exact, perfect, sweet spot time for your microwave. Enjoy with a good movie.

This was awesome. Much better than the packaged microwave popcorn! I used Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn oil in place of the olive oil and my microwave didn’t explode from using a staple!

Just in case you really are worried the staple will cause the microwave to blow, you can scrunch the top of the bag and wrap it several times with a long piece of thread. Sometimes I tie it and sometimes I don’t!
