Description

An updated “cheese-ball” made with Nutella then covered in hazelnuts!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Room Temperature
  • ¾ cups Nutella
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • ⅔ cups Chocolate Chips
  • ⅔ cups Raw Hazelnuts, Roughly Chopped

Preparation

In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in Nutella until evenly distributed. Scrape down sides of the bowl repeatedly to ensure both ingredients are mixed well. Slowly beat in the powdered sugar.

Lay out a double layer of plastic wrap on a flat surface. The plastic should be approximately 16″ by 16″. Pour all of the Nutella and cream cheese mixture into the middle of the plastic wrap. Gather all of the edges of the plastic wrap and pull it to the top. Twist edges together, closing and tightening the mixture into a ball. Clip the plastic to secure it, or hold together with a rubber band. Place the sealed ball into a small bowl and refrigerate or freeze for at least two hours.

While chilling, roughly chop hazelnuts and toss them with the chocolate chips. Lay the mixture out on a plate.

Once Nutella/cream cheese mixture has chilled, roll it in the chocolate chips and hazelnuts to coat.

Serve immediately or wrap again in clean plastic wrap and chill until read to serve.

Serve with graham crackers or fruit.
