Description

My kiddos love this creamy kid friendly cheese ball. Packed with cream cheese and chocolate chips. You can roll it in crushed pecans or leave it plain. Spread on animal crackers, graham crackers or vanilla wafers.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • ½ cups Real Butter, Softened
  • ¼ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Tablespoons Light Brown Sugar
  • ¾ cups Powdered Sugar
  • ¾ cups Mini Chocolate Chips
  • ¾ cups Finely Chopped Pecans
  • Graham Cracker Sticks, Vanilla Wafers Or Chocolate Graham Crackers

Preparation

Beat softened cream cheese, butter, & vanilla until creamy. Slowly add in the sugars until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Place mixture in a Tupperware or plastic container. Refrigerate for 1 -2 hours.

When ready to serve, form the mixture into a ball and roll ball in pecans (optional). You can also roll the cheese ball into graham cracker crumbs or more mini chocolate chips.
My kiddos do not like nuts so those are the optional choices.

Serve with graham crackers, graham cracker sticks, vanilla wafers or animal crackers.

Recipe from The Red Hat Society Cookbook.

Made this for a party last night. It was good, tastes like cream cheese icing. But, it didn’t firm up so I had to freeze it. It wasn’t quite was I was looking for, so I think I”ll try something different next time.

I made this for a party and everyone loved it. I’ve never been asked for a recipe so much. The only problem was that it looks like a regular cheese ball, but doesn’t taste like one, which really confused some people when they first tasted it. Next time I take this to a party I’ll label it.

A huge hit among the kids at our superbowl party. I will make it again anytime I know children are going to be snacking.
