Description

This is a lighter version of traditional popcorn with a hint of cinnamon and tart apple chips. You may want to make two bowls. Just saying.

From Natalie Perry of Perry’s Plate.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Popcorn Kernels, Popped
  • 8 Tablespoons Butter
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar (or Coconut Sugar. If You Prefer Natural Sweetness)
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • Generous Pinch Of Sea Salt
  • 2 cups To 3 Cups Apple Chips, Crushed Into Bite-Sized Pieces

Preparation

Place popped popcorn in a very large bowl.

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium low heat. When butter is mostly melted, add sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Increase heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a low boil. Let it bubble and boil for about 2 minutes, then remove the caramel from the heat.

Drizzle caramel over the popcorn and add apple chips. Stir well, spreading the caramel throughout the popcorn.

Serve.

This was an awesome recipe! I made it for a Halloween get together and everyone was surprised with the dried apples in it. It was surprisingly addicting and had just the right amount of caramel. I’ll be making this one again!
