Description

A wonderful appetizer for all the mushroom lovers out there!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces, weight White Button Mushrooms
  • 2 whole Large Eggs, Beaten
  • 2 Tablespoons Light Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1-½ cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons Horseradish
  • 2 dashes Lemon Juice
  • ½ cups Sour Cream

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400ºF.

Wipe button mushrooms clean with damp paper towels (keep stems on).

In a mixing bowl, add eggs, light cream and black pepper and whisk to combine. On a clean plate, add seasoned bread crumbs.

Add several button mushrooms into the egg wash, toss to coat well. Then add mushrooms to the dish with breadcrumbs and gently toss to coat well. Place on a nonstick 9 x 12 sheet pan in a single layer. Repeat until all the mushrooms are coated.

Put sheet pan into the oven on the middle rack and bake for 30 minutes.

For the sauce, in a mixing bowl add horseradish, lemon juice and sour cream and stir well to combine. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate while mushrooms are baking.

Serve baked mushrooms on a platter with sauce on the side for dipping. This is a great appetizer. Hope you will enjoy!
