Description

A quick and simple spring appetizer with fresh farmers market asparagus!

Ingredients

  • 1 package Puff Pastry
  • 1 bunch Asparagus, Ends Trimmed
  • ½ cups Gruyere
  • ¼ cups Parmesan
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper

Preparation

Preheat oven according to puff pastry directions. Thaw the puff pastry according to the manufacturer’s directions. Once thawed, sprinkle half of the cheeses onto the puff pastry. Line the asparagus on top of the cheese. Scatter the rest of the cheese on top of the asparagus and drizzle with the olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until the pastry dough has puffed and the asparagus is roasted and cooked through.

I made this on Mothers Day. Everyone loved it . There is no gruyere available in my small town so I used swiss instead and it was still great and so pretty. My mother in law had to take pictures of it.

It tasted great and recieved lots of compliments.
I had to use swiss in place of gruyere since it is not
available in my small town. But I will definately try it
again when I get the gruyere.
