Description

A sweet and savory snack perfect for the fall!

Ingredients

  • 1  Medium Apple, Chopped
  • ¼ cups Chopped Walnuts
  • ½ cups Crumbled Goat Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Minced Rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons Honey
  • Salt And Pepper
  • 1  Sheet Thawed Puff Pastry
  • 1  Egg
  • 2 Tablespoons Water

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400ºF.

In a medium-sized bowl, combine apples, walnuts, cheese, rosemary, and honey. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Roll out your pastry until it reaches a 14″ square. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, slice 5 even horizontal slices and then 5 vertical slices to create 25 squares.

Spoon a teaspoonful of apple mixture into the center of each square and fold pastry dough over to form triangles. Seal edges with a fork. Make an egg wash by beating together the egg and water and brush over each triangle.

Butter 2 baking sheets and transfer the triangles over to the pans. Bake for 15 minutes or until light golden brown.

Excellent recipe! I also made a batch with pear, brie, and a little mint. I think they are all extra good with a little more honey drizzled over the top…especially buckwheat honey! Thanks for the inspiration!

Delicious! We made these for a party with a few variations based on what we had. Instead of rosemary, we used fresh sage. And instead of walnuts, we used hazelnuts. Turned out gorgeous and delicious. Make sure you seal the edges well, because otherwise they will puff up and the filling will bubble out. A bit hit otherwise!
