Description

My family loves this dip and I get requests to make it for every event. They gave it the title by asking: “Are you going to bring that amazing baked chicken dip?”

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces, weight Cooked Chicken Breast Meat, Shredded
  • 2 packages (8 Oz. Package) Softened Cream Cheese
  • 6 Tablespoons Skim Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Finely Chopped White Onion
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. You will need an 8 to 9-inch baking dish.

Combine all the ingredients except the mozzarella cheese. Taste the mixture to decide if you like to add additional garlic powder. Salt and pepper also to suit your tastes. Once it is flavored to your liking, mix in about 1/4 of the mozzarella cheese. Pour into the baking dish and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake for 18 minutes or until the edges start becoming a golden brown and it is very pleasing to the eye.

Serve with crackers such as Ritz. The buttery, saltiness of a Ritz seems to be everyone’s preference with this dip.

For an interesting variation, try shredded gruyere, parmesan, or asiago cheeses. The latter two won’t have the same melt to them and will be drier. You can also substitute crab meat for the chicken.

I do serve it warm – right out of the oven usually.

I made this last weekend for a “firepit” party. You are correct, it was amazing. Thanks.
