It’s like apple pie without the crust! A guilt free dessert. As an added bonus, it’s really quick to make if you have a Nor-Pro apple peeler.
Use organic ingredients whenever possible
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Melt the butter substitute and stir in the maple syrup.
Brush the bottom and sides of a 7″ round pot or baking dish with some of the maple mixture.
Peel, core and slice the apples. Wedge them into the pot.
Brush the top with the remaining butter/syrup mixture.
Bake for 30 minutes. Then turn your oven up to 400°F and bake for 15 minutes more. Make sure to check after 10 minutes to be sure it doesn’t brown too much.
When done, remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the top with raisins and cinnamon (amount to taste).
Allow to cool 5 minutes before serving. (Best served hot)

Just wondering if you’ve ever tried using honey instead of syrup? I’m not a maple syrup fan, but am searching for a way to roast some apples.

I’d have to go with real butter here. All these good ingredients, and we’re going to ask for a butter substitute? Not on my watch!

I have a bag of apples that need to be used, and this would be the perfect way to finish them up! Yum!
