Description

So easy, a kid can do it (just ask me!). Very chocolatey!

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons Flour
  • 4 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Cocoa
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Water

Preparation

In a small bowl, whisk together dry ingredients until the cocoa clumps are gone; you can use your hands! Stir in the oil and water. Scrape into a mug with a spatula. Microwave for 1-2 minutes, but check on it once in a while. VOILA! A brownie in a mug. Feel free to double if you want to make one for your big sister. Just make sure SHE cleans up the dishes.

Maybe I did something wrong because I thought these tasted very bland. They were also very dense and rubbery.

Have you ever tried making this just a little less than what the cook time is supposed to be I think it might be gooey and delicious I think that would be GREAT!!!!!

I have a very similar recipe that has the same ingredients + 1 egg and a splash of vanilla. Comes out more cake like. Always does the trick when I get a chocolate craving. Google ‘5 minute chocolate mug cake’ for other variations.

This recipe is great! Very simple and perfect for those days when you just need a little something sweet! And, it’s easily customizable, you could add chocolate chips, drizzle it with caramel, make a little fruit topping, dollop some ice cream on top, or all of the above! I made this the other night and it hit the spot. It was a bit dry, so I may up the oil next time, and I also wonder what adding an egg would do (although I think a whole egg would be too much for this small of a batch).

It tasted a bit odd. It wasn’t really sweet considering it had for tablespoons of sugar, and the only things I could taste were oil and cocoa. I added some coffee grounds, which did improve the taste.

Well, this was delicious. Mmm…. So perfect for a really quick, easy chocolate fix. Although, I’ll admit, I just dumped all the ingredients into the mug and mixed it really well… didn’t want to have to clean another bowl!

This is a great way to satisfy a chocolate craving. It is the perfect amount to share with my daughter or husband. I like it best with dutch process cocoa. I am going to have to try adding vanilla and espresso powder next time!

My microwave must have a high power because a minute over cooked the brownie slightly. I found that 45 sec gives me a bit of gooey lava cake goodness.

I love that this has no egg. One of the kids in my sunday school class has an egg allergy so I’m passing this recipe on to his mom.

I just made this, it was pretty good. A bit too rich for me, but it was definitely satisfying. Mine didn’t cook too evenly though which made for a lava cake in reverse in my mug haha.

Such a lovely recipe! I tried it and then called my brother up so he would try. I think next time, I’ll make a 1/2 batch because it was so rich but real good. A good scoop of ice cream would be the prefect match :-). Thanks.
