Served with cold vanilla ice cream, nothing screams summer louder than this delicious, fruity treat!
Preheat oven to 375F.
Stew cherries by combining 4 cups sugar, water, and pitted cherries in a pot, and cook, allowing to bubble, until it has a syrupy consistency.
Pour mixture into 5-8 ramekins or an 8×10-inch baking dish and set aside.
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, remaining 4 tablespoons sugar and cream together until combined to form dough.
Place a spoonful of dough (to cover most of the top) on each ramekin and bake until golden for 15-25 minutes, or put all the dough on the baking dish and bake 30-40 minutes.
Serve with vanilla ice cream if you want to be especially bad.
