Description

A quick easy dessert that tastes like you spent hours agonizing over it!

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes (about 20 Oz. Box) Brownie Mix, Your Favorite
  • Additional Required Ingredients Specified In Mix Package (typically Water, Eggs And Oil)
  • ½ cups To 1 Cup Chocolate Chips (Mini, Semi Sweet, Milk Chocolate, Your Preference)
  • ½ cups Water
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Can) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 box (3.9 Oz. Box) Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix
  • 20 ounces, weight Cool Whip, Thawed, Divided

Preparation

1. Prepare both boxes of brownie mix as instructed (you’ll typically need water, eggs, and oil, as directed in mix package) but also adding in 1/2 to 1 cup of chocolate chips to the mix. You want to bake the brownies a few minutes less than they call for; you want gooey moist brownies for this recipe.
2. Allow brownies to cool thoroughly before layering dessert. Cut brownies into 1-inch squares.
3. Mix water and condensed milk until thoroughly mixed. Add in pudding mix until combined completely.
4. Mix in 8 oz. whipped topping into the pudding/milk mixture until completely combined (no lumps).
5. In a trifle bowl or any large serving bowl, put half of the brownies on a single layer in the bottom of the bowl.
6. Add half of the pudding mixture on top of the brownies. Then add half of the remaining 12 oz. of Cool Whip. Repeat another layer while using the rest of the ingredients.
7. Place bowl in the fridge for at least 2 hours to meld all together, preferably leaving in the fridge overnight.

You can always top the mixture with strawberries, chocolate shavings, sprinkles, etc. You can make it festive for any holiday accordingly.

This trifle is now one of my favorite desserts!! It is so easy to make and put together but it gives your get together a little bit of a fancy flair. This recipe definitely gets better after at least 12 hours so I highly recommend that you make it the day before. I made this for our Labor Day cookout and it was so good, I’m making it again for my MIL’s birthday party. I’m looking forward to all the compliments that are going to come my way!! ;)

I made this for our Memorial Day gathering yesterday. My family’s two favorite desserts are brownie sundaes and chocolate pudding pie. This Chocolate Brownie Trifle is both of those desserts combined! It was so easy to make and delicious. It sat in the fridge for about 4 hours before we ate it, it was good. I also had a second helping of it later in the day, after it had sat in the fridge for longer and it was even better. This will definitely be added to our go to recipes for family gatherings!
