I don’t like super sweet frosting, but I wound up adding at least one more cup of sugar. After that, it was pretty good frosting!

This frosting is fantastic! My husband, who doesn’t like things super sweet, LOVES it… I love all levels of sweetness and think it is wonderful as well. I have brought it to work, on top of pumpkin chocolate chip cupcakes, and there were across the board rave reviews!

I had a Red Velvet cake mix in the cupboard so thought I’d give this a try. I ended up making cupcakes so piped some of the frosting into the middle of each before I frosted them.
I did use almond extract instead of vanilla.
I took leftovers to work and got several, those were delicious comments. I think this frosting is a good alternative if you are looking for cream cheese flavor with a lighter, fluffier texture.

I make this a lot (my own version with 5 tbs butter mixed with the cream cheese and 2 cups powdered sugar) and it’s FANTASTIC. A real crowd pleaser for sure, and it pipes beautifully.

Made this for my 3 year olds Princess Cake…..DELICIOUS! I’ll be making this for my cakes often. Thanks!

Just a note….start out with 1 c. sugar but you may need to add more depending on how stiff and/or sweet you want the frosting…enjoy!

I’m always on the hunt for a deliscious frosting that holds up, but is still not thick and overly sweet like a typical buttercream.
This recipe has intrigued me. I have some cupcakes to make next week and I plan on saving this recipe and trying it out. It sounds good!
