Description

How I make Buttercream Frosting.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Vanilla

Preparation

Start with 2 sticks or 1 cup of real butter, and leave the butter out to soften to room temperature.

Then whip it until it’s creamy and fluffy.

For every 1/2 cup of butter or 1 stick, use about 2 cups of powdered sugar. For a full recipe, use 4 cups of powdered sugar. Scoop it into a measuring cup and then use a whisk to sift it.

Add the powdered sugar, a little at a time, alternating with milk and vanilla. I’m sorry I don’t measure, but it’s about 2-4 tablespoons of milk and 1-2 tablespoons of vanilla. Beat well after each addition.

Now you can add any color that you would like

I made cupcakes with this frosting but I had to add 1 Tbls of milk and 1 more cup of powder sugar to get the mixture right. But let me tell you it was the best!! Everybody loved them! I used the Sour Cream Almond Cake with this and it was wonderful! Definately a keeper!
