Description

This Green Bean Casserole Cheesy Bread puts a creative spin on the classic holiday side dish!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian Bread
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 8 ounces, weight Fresh, Sliced White Mushrooms
  • Dash Of Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • ½ cups Swanson® Chicken Broth
  • 1 can (10 1/2 Oz. Size) Campbell's® Cream Of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 can (14 1/2 Oz. Size) Del Monte® Blue Lake® Cut Green Beans
  • ¼ cups French's Crispy Onions, Plus More For Topping
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Preparation

Preheat oven to medium broil.

Cut bread in half lengthwise. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over each half. Broil until bread starts to turn golden, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside.

Preheat oven to 425ºF.

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Cook until mushrooms start to brown, about 4–5 minutes. Add garlic and saute for another 2–3 minutes.

Add broth to skillet and simmer for 3 minutes. Add soup and stir until thoroughly combined.

Remove skillet from heat. Add green beans and crispy onions. Stir to combine.

Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese onto each slice of bread. Spoon green bean mixture evenly over each half. Top with additional onions.

Bake for 13–15 minutes, or until cheese starts to melt. Remove from oven and cut into slices. Enjoy!
