One of my favorite Thanksgiving pies, Chocolate Pecan Pie is out of this world. Serve it with whipped cream, and try hard not to lick the plate clean. That might be embarrassing.
Melt semi-sweet chocolate with butter, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and beat in corn syrup, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
In a separate bowl, beat eggs. Add to chocolate and beat until well incorporated. Roughly chop pecans and place on the bottom of the pastry pie shell. Pour chocolate mixture over the top of the pecans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes until a knife inserted 1 inch from the edge comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream.

This was a hit last night – and tasted even better this morning

This pie is as great as the pie I had in New Orleans–rich, almost decadent! The dollop of whipped cream mellows out the richness of the chocolate pecan.
5 Mitts from me.
