This is the best turnip dish I’ve ever had. Okay, so I’ve only had turnips a few ways but still! So tasty. Didn’t want to share any with my husband. I think we added a bit too much butter for it was saucier than the picture, but it was tasty! Not soupy, just saucy. Which we of course ate as well.

I’m not sure what I did wrong as the other reviews were so awesome. My turnips were so bad I couldn’t serve them at all. Sorry to say this especially since I so greatly wanted this to work out. I planted tons of turnips this year and now dont know what to do with them (kinda funny if you think about it).

I took this to Christmas dinner last night and people raved. It is so delicious! I had to leave mine in for twice the recommended time until the top browned and bubbled. I think I had too much liquid–cream and chicken broth. This is the problem with the measurement of a “splash.” But live and learn! It was delicious anyhow!

Made this for a potluck, and everyone loved it. Since many were vegetarian, I did not use the chicken broth (just cream and butter). I didn’t have Gruyere Cheese, so substituted Honey Gouda Goat Cheese. I made green chips from the turnip green.

This is very good. Made it over Thanksgiving and it was great. I too was a little heavy handed on the broth and butter. Next time I will only use the 2 tablespoons of butter and a little broth. Overall it was delicious! I will absolutely make it again!

I can’t wait to try this… it just dawned on me the other day that I have NEVER had a turnip! So I decided to look for a recipe that my family would probably like and voila–anything with “gratin” and we are good to go!

I made individual servings in ramikins. The whole family loved it-even my 2 and 4 year-olds! Mine was REALLY runny. I’m thinking that I didn’t need to add the cream and broth with each layer. We will definitely have this again-a total keeper!

I made a half batch, as I just had two people to feed. Overall: Yum!
I got a little heavy handed with the butter, and think I should’ve added more cream instead…but it still turned out yummy. I’m at 5000ft altitude, and it took about 35 minutes instead of 20.
Will definitely try this one again. Thanks!

Made this for the first time, Thanksgiving 2008. I’ve made it for every holiday dinner since then – Xmas, Easter and TDay this year. It is UNBELIEVABLE. So very simple to make and fabulous taste.
