Description

Sticky+sweet+buns = delicious

Ingredients

  • FOR THE DOUGH:
  • 5 cups Flour
  • 3 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • ½ cups Oil Or Melted Butter
  • 2 cups Water Or Milk
  • Sticky
  • ½ cups Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Walnuts, Chopped (optional)
  • ¼ cups Corn Syrup
  • Cinnamon Mixture
  • 5 Tablespoons Softened Butter
  • ½ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 4 teaspoons Cinnamon

Preparation

Preparing the dough – directions for making dough for buns and bread – two in one! – You’re welcome ;)

1. Combine 2C flour, sugar, yeast and salt, blend well in large bowl.

2. Combine water and oil – heat until very warm (120° – 130°, do not let boil or the water and oil will be too hot and kill the yeast).

3. Add liquid to flour mixture, blend on low speed until moistened; beat 3 min on medium speed.

4. Stir in 2 ½ -3 C flour until dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

5. Knead dough for 6 min in mixer or 10 min by hand on floured surface; add flour a little at a time whenever the dough gets “sticky”.

6. Place dough in greased bowl and let rise covered with a towel (until doubled – about 1 hour).

7. Punch down dough (this is where you will take the dough and either make cinnamon buns or bread).

8. Divide into two loaves – place in greased 8×4 loaf pans.

9. Let rise until dough is slightly above the pan edges.

10. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or golden brown and sounds hollow.

11.Remove from pans immediately; cool on racks; melt butter on tops of loaves.

12. Eats lots of it.

Cinnamon Buns:

Prepare the sticky –

1. While dough is rising the first time, mix the cinnamon mixture in a bowl.

2. Melt ½ C butter brown sugar walnuts and corn syrup in a sauce pan.

3. Spread melted mixture on the bottom of 2 9 x13 pans.

Work those buns –

1. Mix the softened butter, sugar and cinnamon (for added kicks you can add nutmeg, some brown sugar or even pumpkin spice to it)

2. After you punch down dough divide in half.

3. Roll out dough in rectangle shape (about ¼” thick).

4. Spread ½ of cinnamon mixture on dough.

5. Tightly roll up dough in a jelly roll style.

6. Cut into sliced for desired # of buns (I find 12 works best).

7. Arrange buns over sticky stuff in pan.

8. Repeat for rest of dough.

9. Cover, let rise until doubled.

10. Heat oven until 375° and bake for 25-30 minutes – or until golden brown.

11 When done immediately invert pan on to a cookie sheet; let pan remain 1-2 min; lift pan.

12. Let cool slightly; best when warm.

13. YUM!
