I made this today as a snack to go with lunch, and thought I’d share the recipe. It’s very simple and also classifies as comfort food for the fall. Great right out of the oven on a cold/rainy day!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Peel, core, and cut up the apples in slices. Place them in a small dish buttered with 1 tablespoon butter. Blend the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl and sprinkle over the apples. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and stir in the instant oatmeal. Spread over the apples in the baking dish. Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter and mix in about 2 tablespoons of water. Pour butter/water mixture over the apples and oatmeal.
Bake for about 40 minutes. Serve in a fancy glass and enjoy!
