Delicious apple crisp that is perfect on a fall day.
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Peel and chop apples and put into a bowl. Toss apple pieces with lemon juice, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and nutmeg. Place apple mixture into a 9″x9″ baking dish. Cut 1/4 cup butter into small pieces and dot over apples.
In a separate bowl, combine remaining 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, flour, and oats. Use your fingers to mix together until it resembles coarse crumbs and butter is fairly evenly distributed. Pat mixture on top of apples. Bake for 30 minutes until bubbly.
Serve warm with ice cream. Yummy!
