Description

Don’t have an ice cream freezer? No problem. All you need to make this delicious sherbet is a few ingredients, a blender and your freezer.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Fresh Or Thawed Blueberries
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Preparation

Put all the ingredients into a blender and process until smooth.

Line a 9×9 pan with plastic wrap. (You can omit this but it makes it much easier later in the recipe.) Place blended mixture in the pan and freeze for at least 4 hours.

Remove from the pan and process again in the blender in small batches until smooth.

Place in a freezer container, cover and freeze again for 4 hours.

This was amazing! I made it for my parents and my Mom said it was the most exquisite thing she had put in her mouth. I used low fat buttermilk in the recipe, but otherwise followed the recipe to a tee. I used a melon baller to “scoop” it out of the container.

**I must say though, we all had blue tongues after eating it.
