This is a very fast, very easy, and very yummy bread to make. Everyone is sure to love it!
In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Add 1 2/3 cups of the flour, and add the cheese, sugar, shortening, and salt. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed for thirty seconds, and then beat on medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl.
Add the remaining 1 cup flour, stirring until combined and scraping the sides of the bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, then stir about 25 strokes.
Spread the batter evenly in a greased 9×5 loaf pan and let rise about 45 minutes, covered, or until the batter has doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375F. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cover with foil during the last 25 minutes of baking to prevent over-browning. Remove from the oven and place on a rack to cool.
Prep time: 10 minutes, plus rising time.
